Special Hours Notice:

We want to thank you for your continued patience over these last few months. In coordination with the governor’s announcement this week regarding indoor fitness facilities, the Kaplan Center will be opening on Saturday, September 12th at 10:00am.

For the fall semester, our hours of operation will be:
Monday – Thursday 6:00am – 10:00pm
Friday 6:00am – 8:00pm
Saturday 10:00am – 7:00pm
Sunday 10:00am – 10:00pm

Over the next week, we will be updating our website and communicating details regarding your membership and important considerations when visiting the Kaplan Center.

Family Recreation

Family Recreation Membership Fee: $15 per month (paid in the Recreation & Wellness Administrative Suite) or $8 per day per child Friday at 3pm through Sunday at 11pm.

During the fall and spring semesters, Recreation & Wellness offers weekend hours for families to enjoy fitness and recreational sports together and bring in family members to the facility. The Family Weekend hours are Friday 3pm to 9pm, Saturday 10am to 7pm and Sunday 10am to 11pm.  Kaplan Center hours of operation may vary during holidays and breaks.

During the summer semesters only, Recreation & Wellness Family Recreation Hours are extended to all hours the Kaplan Center is open in the summer, Monday through Sunday for the same $15 a month fee.  For 2020, the start of the summer semester is Monday, May 11th and goes through Sunday, August 16th.

To participate in family recreation hours, one person must be a member of the Kaplan Center. A member is a current Main Campus UNC Greensboro Student or a UNC Greensboro affiliated, paying member of the Kaplan Center.  Additional members are not eligible to sponsor someone else for a membership or to purchase a family recreation membership.   The Kaplan Member must accompany their family at all times.  

Please remember that children under the age of 18 are not eligible to use the weight or cardio equipment.

Here are some guidelines for the Family Recreation program:

  • For the family recreation program, “family members” are defined as the member’s parent, spouse or life mate/partner and their children.
  • Any child under the age of 18 is only eligible to utilize the Kaplan Center during Family Recreation Hours.
  • The Kaplan Member must accompany their family at all times.
  • Brothers, sisters and other family members are eligible to use the Kaplan Center if they are 18 years or older, sponsored by a current member, complete the Guest Pass Waiver and pay a $8 guest pass fee.
  • A Minor Participant Waiver must be completed by the parent or legal guardian for each child under 18.
  • Children under the age of 18 are not eligible to use the weight or cardio equipment.
