Special Hours Notice:

We want to thank you for your continued patience over these last few months. In coordination with the governor’s announcement this week regarding indoor fitness facilities, the Kaplan Center will be opening on Saturday, September 12th at 10:00am.

For the fall semester, our hours of operation will be:
Monday – Thursday 6:00am – 10:00pm
Friday 6:00am – 8:00pm
Saturday 10:00am – 7:00pm
Sunday 10:00am – 10:00pm

Over the next week, we will be updating our website and communicating details regarding your membership and important considerations when visiting the Kaplan Center.

Wilderness First Aid Information

Wilderness First Aid (WFA) will be taught by Landmark Learning and held at UNCG’s Piney Lake Property. Course dates are Saturday, March 21st – Sunday, March 22nd. The cost for the certification course is $237.00. This year’s course is limited to 30 participants.

Wilderness First Aid eligibility requirements:

WFA is open to any avid hikers, teachers leading school trips, backcountry guides, canoe trip leaders, private expedition groups, college/university outdoor education programs, hiking club trip leaders, wilderness therapeutic programs, and adventure race safety personnel.

How to reserve a spot for WFA:

Please download the UNCG WFA Registration Packet, complete all forms in full, and submit to UNCG Outdoor Adventures along with payment.
WFA is filled on a first come, first served basis. Outdoor Adventures cannot hold spots without payment.
All forms below must be submitted with payment to register. Documents can be submitted in the following ways:

Cancellation Policy

  • Any cancellation within 30 days prior to the course start date will NOT be eligible for a refund
  • If the course cancels due to low enrollment, funds paid are 100% refundable
