About SPARTA

Mission Statement:

The peer education program seeks to train student leaders to empower and engage the campus community. Through outreach and advocacy peer educators help to make UNCG a healthier and safer environment for all students.

How Do I Become Involved?

Peer educators begin by taking HEA 202: Introduction to Peer Health Education.  This course teaches the fundamental knowledge and interpersonal skills necessary for effective leadership on campus. We teach you the basics of health and wellness with a major focus on leadership development and peer presentation skill-building. Students can also become involved in SPARTA by assisting with tabling and at wellness events by attending regular meetings outside of class time.

HEA 202 is offered every spring semester.
