About the Event

The Homecoming 5K is an annual campus event that jump-starts a full day of homecoming events. Whether you are an alumni, current student, faculty, staff, family member, supporter, or just a pure runner this event is for you. This year’s event is supporting UNCG’s Spartan Open Pantry.

400 Participants = $3,500 Donation to the Spartan Open Pantry

If we reach our goal of 400 registered participants, a donation of $2,500 will be contributed to the Spartan Open Pantry. This equates to each participant providing 2 meals for a student in need. Participants and supports are also encouraged to bring food items for donation to the event race-day morning.

The Spartan Open Pantry program is overseen by the Wesley-Luther ministry. From assistance for students who need a little help at the end of the month, to homeless students and families who depend on the pantry for complete support, the SOP assists our neighbors who need a hand. The Spartan Open Pantry is part of the Partners Assisting the Homeless & Hungry Spartans (PATHS), coordinated by the Dean of Students Office, an also part of UNCG Cares, a newly-launched initiative to bring together all of the resources available to students who may be facing challenges.

Registration

Registration is currently open. Please be aware that registration for this event will be on-line. Therefore, we will only accept credit-card for payment. Registration include:

1. Run Kit
2. DC Wonder Woman Run finisher’s medal
3. Commemorative run bib
4. Professional run photos: free to download and share
5. Heroic run course experience and post-run party!

Day-of-event registrations will be accepted.
